Welcome to the Thomas M. Cooley Law School's Grand Rapids Campus

Cooley’s Grand Rapids campus, like the law school of which it is a part, has the mission to graduate a diverse body of students with the integrated knowledge to practice law skillfully and ethically. We are committed to academic rigor, practical skills, and professional ethics.

As a branch of the nation’s largest law school, Cooley’s Grand Rapids campus offers tremendous educational resources and program variety including a full-time faculty, a complete law library and staff, and dedicated administrative and student-services support—all while maintaining the supportive learning environment more typical of a small college.

Like Cooley’s Lansing and Auburn Hills campuses, the Grand Rapids campus offers the full required-course curriculum and electives necessary to complete any of the concentration options. The campus has day, evening, and weekend classes, and traditional law school co-curricular activities like Law Review and Moot Court and Mock Trial competitions, and student organizations.

Cooley’s Grand Rapids campus maintains strong ties with the local community, creating diverse volunteer and legal service opportunities with the courts, law firms, prosecutor and public-defender offices, other government agencies, and many nonprofit organizations. Many Cooley students, including first-year students, serve in the courthouse-based Legal Assistance Center, learning important inter-cultural and professional skills.

Please visit Grand Rapids—Michigan's second largest city and one of its "Cool Cities." It has great restaurants, thriving arts and entertainment scenes, many graduate and undergraduate programs, and the beautiful beaches of Lake Michigan only 40 minutes away.

Cooley’s Grand Rapids campus is a vital part of this rich and vibrant urban setting. When you visit the Grand Rapids campus, you will see the award-winning 100,000 square-foot Law Center that houses our library, classrooms, trial and appellate courtrooms, and offices. The campus has wireless connectivity and state-of-the-art teaching technology, including two classrooms with cross-campus videoconferencing equipment to connect all three Cooley campuses.
