Cooley Partnership with Oakland University

Cooley-Auburn Hills is the exclusive educational partner law school of Oakland University. Students graduating from OU who meet Cooleys admission requirements are given priority in selection of both campus and entering term. Cooley reserves a minimum of 15 seats per section for OU students at their Auburn Hills campus.

OU Honors College students earning a minimum GPA of 3.5 and a minimum LSAT score of 149 are eligible for early admission to Cooley during or after the second semester of their junior year, and these students are eligible for at least a 35 percent tuition scholarship, or more depending on their LSAT score and undergraduate GPA.

OU Honors College students who meet the criteria for the early admission program and are admitted to Cooley can begin their law school education early by taking two introductory courses at Cooleys Auburn Hills campus while enrolled at OU during their last or next to last semester.

Cooley and OU also offer MBA-JD and MPA-JD dual degree programs for interested students.

OU Services and Facilities for Cooley Students

Through our partnership agreement with Oakland University, Oakland University extends the following services and facilities to Cooley students as listed below.

You will need an Oakland University ID obtainable at the Oakland Center the first week of Cooley classes. The ID fee is $10.00.

You may join the Oakland University Recreation Center, currently $100.00 per semester, Fall-Winter-Spring.

The Graham Health Center offers patient visits at varying costs from $35.00-$50.00 depending on type of visit.

Graham Health Center also offers Counseling and Testing. Counseling sessions are $20.00 per visit; Learning Disability test battery is $275.00.

Student Health Insurance policies are available utilizing the OU insurance carrier, Maksin Insurance Group; the premium is $1572.00 for the 2008-09 academic year.

On campus housing is available at the same room and board rates as OU students pay; the current rates are listed on the OU website. Cooley students are generally placed in a group of 4-person student apartments or family housing if need dictates. Housing placement depends on availability.

The Oakland Center room rental is based on OU affiliated program. Facility information is available on their web site.

Enjoy Golfing at Katke Cousins Golf Center, weekend and holiday rate for full time students $14 for 9 holes, $20 for18 holes; weekday rate for full time student rate, $13 for 9 holes, $14 for 18 holes. Part-time student rate: weekend 9-hole $21 and 18-hole $28; weekday $19 for 9 holes and $25 for 18 holes.

Participate in Intramural Sports.

Meadowbrook Hall, tours are free for students with IDs during regularly scheduled tour times.

Visit the Oakland University Art Gallery, all exhibitions free of charge.

Meadowbrook Theatre and Meadowbrook Music Theatre offer special student discounts.
