Anna was attracted to Cooley Law School for many reasons including its flexible scheduling options, skills training, and generous scholarships. She also knew, because Cooley is a national and international law school, she would have the depth and breadth of the programs and opportunities provided by the largest law school in the nation. She also appreciated that Cooley recognized her academic achievements with an Honors Scholarship that would make going to law school very affordable.
Cooley’s Nonprofit Incorporation Project helped Anna start a social-justice institute through which Anna now offers part-time employment to several law students.
Anna attributes her success to the support of Cooley’s professors, who all have actual practice experience. |
Anna Rapa
May 2007 graduate
Anna graduated at the top of her class with multiple honors, passed the bar exam, and began work as a staff attorney for the Michigan Court of Appeals.
Anna grew up in a family whose social justice values and beliefs made a huge impression on her and framed her decisions in life. Her parents are overseas missionaries and Anna felt strongly that she also wanted to help the disadvantaged – specifically young people – and the oppressed. To really help though, Anna knew that a top-notch education in the law would give her the tools she needed to make a difference.
