Please consider spending a little time with a student from
your area. As much as the student will benefit, you will also gain from
the experience. If you have any questions about the Alumni Mentoring program,
you can contact us in one of the following ways:
After spending three
years in Michigan, Cooley students from other states
are concerned that, "you can't go home again." The
difficulty of returning home is increased by the loss of social contacts
and networking opportunities that can result from an extended absence
from one's home state.
You can be assured that you will be making
a real difference in the life of a student. The value of a
hometown contact and a word of encouragement
is beyond price.
Fortunately, as Thomas
Cooley has graduates residing in all fifty states, our alums can extend a
welcome to returning graduates nationwide. All it takes is for you to let
us know that you are willing to accept a currently enrolled student as your
mentee.
The extent of your relationship
is as simple or as ongoing as you wish. You may choose to meet your student
at your office during a term break or have lunch to discuss the local professional
environment. On the other hand, the relationship might evolve into offering
the student a clerkship or assisting him or her by passing on employment
information when graduation nears. |
