Litigation
This concentration will appeal to those who wish to develop the skills necessary to function as an effective civil or criminal litigator. Persons in this track recognize that few disputes are actually tried to a conclusion. For those that are, a special set of lawyering skills must be possessed by the truly effective lawyer. This curriculum will focus on pretrial and trial tactics, both criminal and civil. Likely clinical placements will be in prosecutor and defender offices and law firms specializing in tort litigation. Professor Russell chairs the Litigation Concentration.
DEADLINE FOR DESIGNATING LITIGATION CONCENTRATION: All students selecting the Litigation Concentration must meet with a faculty member of this concentration to discuss appropriate courses for meeting specific career goals and to help plan an academic schedule. Students choosing this concentration must complete this process by the time they complete 45 credit hours, unless they can demonstrate a good cause for delaying the selection.
